Influential poll puts Tories ahead in Norwich South

The EDP and Evening News cover the story here, including the factually incorrect and rather grumpy protestations from my opponents. I am not taking any vote for granted at this election and we must prove that we are ready for, and responsible in the use of, power. There is still a lot of work to do, but this backs up what we are being told on the doorsteps that we are performing very strongly in the race to be our next MP.

Let's hope so Antony, you deserve it.

That's very encouraging to see that people in Norwich South as well as sorth want a Conservative MP. Let's hope the seat is secured at the next election and turn both the north and south of Norwich Conservative!

I'n not sure what you are saying? What is factually incorrect?

That is a serious allegation, please back this up with facts.

As I see it this is using a regional swing to predict specific seats so this is not that reliable a poll as the samples for each seat would be far too low.

I wish you well Antony, think you've done a super job representing Bowthorpe. Whatever the polls, the gut feel of most people in South Norwich is that the result will be tight and could go either way. Much depends on the economy/feel good/bad between now and the GE.

Thanks for those comments. The poll was, to be the best of my knowledge and unless you can tell me otherwise, carried out locally and represent the views of people here in Norwich South - not nationally, not within a region or sub set of marginals.

The LDs and Greens may continue to peddle it the other way (and one in the EDP tried to claim that Ashcroft was pulling the strings - I am sure Kellner of YouGov would have something to say about that) but this is the situation.

It's game on in Norwich South.
