Eastern Region: As You Were

Con 3, UKIP 2, LibDem 1, Labour 1

No change for the Tory, UKIP or LibDem vote; Labour decline by 6%, Green rise by 3% - but no seat for Norwich Cllr Rupert Read. I'd be interested in the figures to see how close he was.

I suspect is was about 1% deficit of the vote that kept Rupert out of Europe this time. Think Greens deserved a seat but that Rupert wasn't everyone's cup of tea with his left wing green philosophies.

The Green's failure did make me smile.....

It's a bit ironic really. The LibDems campaigned by claiming that only they could stop UKIP/BNP, but in fact if one in twelve of their voters had switched to (or stayed with) Green, then the 7th seat would have gone to Rupert Read instead of UKIP.

Indeed MisterB; but LDs claims about voting for them always rely on stopping another party. They never say vote for us because we are positive. Odd that!
