Bowthorpe Thread

As you might imagine I am going to be very busy in the next few days, so may not be able to post. However you can use this thread for predictions, comments on the campaign or literature and suchlike.

It will be very interesting if the very negative and very, very intense LibDem campaign pays off; we wonder what the lack of a Green campaign will do to their vote and if Labour can ever recover in this ward.

John Wyatt was a great councillor and I hope the person who replaces him on Thursday is every bit as good - I trust that person is Andrew Wiltshire; local, hard working and the best man to beat Labour!

First thing from the Greens through my door. Was a Norwich South wide 'newspaper' nothing Bowthorpe orientated.
I predict a Conservative hold, the liberal democrat vote share will go up and they'll gain third place, however, I can't see them doing that impressive. Green Party haven't campaigned that hard from the looks of it, will struggle to gain even 10% of the vote.
Conservative - 42%
Labour - 34%
Lib dems - 16%
Greens - 8%

I see you say "It will be very interesting if the very negative and very, very intense LibDem campaign pays off". Is this really a serious possibility. Surely this should be a walkover for your man with the government being so useless.

I am one of those people who *might* have voted LD this time and, in fact, (sorry Anthony) I probably will at the general election. However their very negative campaign makes it impossible for a real liberal like me to do it. So I will be voting for Andrew on Thursday but *only* because of the positive campaign he has run.

I live in Earlham and feel that our "bit" has generally been ignored over the years; so I have enjoyed the attention in this campaign.

However having got excited that the Liberal candidate had written to me personally, I was disappointed to see it was a printed "hand written" letter - not fair game?
