I think Eve is strong but weakened by her county incinerator support. Trevor and Vic have a fair chance in their wards. The others will be struggling I fear.

Eco Tories have a chance, Neo-Thatcherites, forget it!

Aaahhh the young faces of the new improved Tory party! Why the lack of baseball caps and 'gettin' down with the kids' to the sounds of the reprehensible Arctic Monkeys?

Actually, I don't wear a baseball cap or listen to the Arctic Monkeys. We may be the young faces of the Tory Party, but we all happen to believe in the principles of our Party and are getting involved in the system because we are disgusted at the way New Labour has abused their power. We may be struggling in our wards but we will give our opponents a damn good run for their money and contribute to the Conservative cause. And, furthermore in my little answer to these comments (more like a rant, actually)I believe it is possible to balance being ecologically friendly and Thatcherite free market principles.

Neo Thatcherite policies aren't going to get you too many votes in Norwich Kristofer d. Green and Maggie don't mix as Michael Heseltine and John selwyn Gummar will tell you.

I like Cameron, Kristofer, I hate Thatcherism! If you preach Madge Economics, no one in University will vote for you, period!

Maggie is like Marmite - you either love her or you hate her. I'm not going to preach Thatcherite economics at anyone - they can vote for whom they like. I happen to feel that the Thatcherite principle of the free market economy has been accepted in the post-Cold War world, and the challenge now is how do we move on in this modern world. Not all Thatcherite economics was good, but please note that I said Thatcherite free market. The challenge now is reconciling the free market with eco-friendly policies (or as near as is politically and economically possible). The State cannot - and should not - have a monopoly over everything or it stifles ingenuity and originality, as well as creating a society living on hand-downs rather than a hand up.

I, too, am a fan of David Cameron. I think that he is refreshing the Party and making it ready for government. I question some of small details but the bigger picture is looking good. I am a loyal Cameroon.

Anyway, this is supposed to be Antony's blog - not mine. If you question some of my beliefs or want to know more about what I think is going on in todays world, then visit my blog (which also has a link to my candidate website).

Thatcher took Freedmans economic too far, dismantled great British institutes and British society. Marmite? more like Pedigree Chum!
